Why this exists

When I first moved to Detroit, I would ride my bike around and hop from happy hour to happy hour. I would meet friends, explore new neighborhoods, and eat and drink freely.

Fast forward to now, and without getting into the weeds, it’s harder than ever for restaurants to reach the social media audiences they’ve taken years to build. The tech companies want businesses’ ad dollars, so their organic social posts are only seen by a small percentage of their followers unless they pay up. So when they post about events, deals, really anything, their followers won’t always see the posts unless they seek them out on purpose.

It was getting nice again in Detroit, and I just wanna take my bike out and go to happy hour, but I could only name 2-3 off the top of my head, even though I follow many local restaurants on social media. I thought I create a place where all of the happy hours can be seen at once, and so it’s easy to go out, explore, meet friends, support local Detroit businesses, and enjoy the city during the BEST!!! time of the year.
